Project Details:

I closed a PR deal with musician Nick Serena because of Billy O'Connell from Santa Barbara Records referring him to me. Nick went viral for looking like a celebrity. The issue is that he is a musician, and doesn't want to be known as only a lookalike. He reached out to control branded search terms.

Solution:

Connect Nick being a lookalike to his music career. Syndication led to 500+ PR placements secured in front of 172 million people for music and lookalike keywords for the paid timeframe using keywords Nick has already had impressions for.

Results:

Synidcated placements include Associated Press, ABC, CBS, CW, Fox, NBC, and much more. Nick temporarily was placed as a featured snipped by Google for search terms related to Penn Badgley lookalike for music. Links show up in search engine results pages from this PR syndication blast over a year later.

This way anyone who finds that viral TikTok of Nick being a Penn Badgley lookalike or who searches for related keywords long enough will be able to further connect him as a musician if they haven't come across his social media otherwise.

This was one of those cases where balance was needed between how much budget could go into ranking for a term without a sales funnel connected (meaning no possible direct return on investment), so the focus was generating awareness without becoming locked in as just a lookalike (which is why major outlets were not pitched for this case, only news agencies).

Syndication means you are paying news agencies for a specific time frame to host your press release in hopes of other outlets picking it up, or for gaining long term placements with that release.
